UCL in Woluwe celebrates its 40th anniversary!

UCL research laboratories take this opportunity to open their doors to the general public on Wednesday , April 1st from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM

The de Duve Institute will welcome you and your relatives in two of its own labs.

Investigators will show you the way of DNA and help you understand the organization of membranes, tissues and cells through microscopy.

  • The way of DNA: from sampling to sequencing

The laboratory of Human Genetics investigates the causes of vascular anomalies, cleft lips and palates and several types of cancers. It hosts and manages the Genetics platform of standard sequencing, genotyping, gene expression profiling and high throughput sequencing. They will show you the way from DNA extraction to sequencing steps.

  • Towards a better understanding of membranes, cells and tissues organization through microscopy.

The Cell and Tissue Imaging Platform gathers several stereomicroscopes, confocal and electronic microscopes and offers a wide range of sophisticated methods for live-cell imaging and immunolabelling. Welcoming teams from de Duve Institute and other institutes of the Health Science Sector, this platform ensures the progression of numerous research projects ranging from biological membranes organization to tissues formation and remodelling.
